THE BERING SEA

In The Bering Sea an active intelligence agent must pass himself off as an anthropology lecturer aboard an expedition ship. He is assigned a mission in one of the small Russian areas across the Bering Straits from Alaska. The result is a kaleidoscope of adventures in an area of the world relatively unexplored, and within the community of espionage unknown to most people. Here the agent must conduct a mission in a foreign country, while enlisting support, and implementing a plan for his escape.

The MS World Discoverer appears lying stove-up on its starboard side in the cove of an island just off Guadalcanal in the Solomons. Taken by pirates after it struck an uncharted rock formation the ship was paid off by Lloyds in 2000, and left to rest on into nautical eternity. The ship plays a key role in the forthcoming espionage thriller "The Bering Sea," by James Strauss.
